The mythical DEA Schedule I license

Your heroin is ready for pickup at the pharmacy.
They say there's no such thing as a stupid question. We used to believe this too, at least until we became familiar with the wondrous combination of midlevels and nurse practitioners with social media. Generally, any simple yes-or-no question that can be easily answered with a Google search qualifies. Here is one fine example from a nurse practitioner: "We don't need drug 1 schedule right?"
Anyone among our audience with a medical degree (and anyone even remotely familiar with the DEA and US controlled substance regulation) would know that DEA Schedule I drugs have high abuse potential and are regarded as having no legitimate medical use (at least from a legal perspective), and that needless to say, with the exception of some very narrowly defined research exemptions, it's pretty goddamned illegal to manufacture, distribute, dispense, or possess any substances on this list under federal law. Examples of such substances include heroin, LSD, and ecstasy. Â So, to make a long story short, no - this midlevel definitely doesn't need a DEA Schedule I license!
